Our Team

Korey Gibson, Founder

koreygibKorey first became a qualified spin instructor in Australia in 2002. Korey loved seeing the results that cycle workouts were delivering his clients from fat loss to increased endurance to better bone health. He saw an opportunity to combine cycle classes with resistance workouts to give his clients a full body workout that would increase strength and endurance all in a 45 minute workout.

Korey's sporting background:

A true athlete, Korey has a lifelong history of sporting achievements including:

  • Former Junior Warrior & Rugby League Player in the UK & Queensland Cup Australia
  • King of the Mountain MMA Lightweight Champion Australia
  • Warriors Realm MMA Lightweight Champion Australia
  • ISKA MMA Lightweight Champion New Zealand

Korey's business background:

Korey worked hard from a young age to turn his love of sport into a career. He 'earned his stripes' proving himself as a salesman in the fitness field and working closely with clients as a personal trainer to help them get results they desired.

In 2004, Korey launched Boot Camps Australia Pty Ltd in Brisbane, a new group fitness brand in Australia. After moving home to New Zealand in 2008, Korey then joined forces with Leon McNiece and opened Quest Health Club, in Ferrymead, Christchurch, a successful club that was loved by passionate staff and members. Sadly, the 2011 earthquake devastated the club's premise and the club never re-opened. Not one to sit on his hands, in 2010 Korey and Leon brought Snap Fitness to New Zealand and have now opened 51 clubs throughout New Zealand. Now, Korey dedicates his time to his six fitness brands, Cadence, My First Gym, 9Round, Snap Fitness, Fit Futures Learning Institute and Boot Camps Training Systems.
